YAY! New story, and I love the direction this one appears (appears because you are a sneaky bugger) to be heading in. It's great that their 3am phone calls have become routine (why at 3? Does Emma live in a different time zone, or is that when she figures she can catch Emily resting even if on a case?), though the decrease in frequency saddens me. I'm a little surprised that they can just talk so openly about their childhoods, but then I look at Emma and think: yeah, not that open. Still, just being able to jump into a topic and getting an answer, however rough, shows they've come pretty far, and it's so sweet. Plus I'm grateful for the backstory on both sides. Also, congrats: this may be the first time an endearment like 'darling' hasn't made me cringe.

Aww, I feel so bad for Garcia, being so close to JJ and still so afraid of her reaction. And it'll be worse now because of the added length of time Garcia's kept it a secret. Still, I'm sure JJ will come through for her - she'll be thrown off as hell, but she'll come around. You do like to make her a punching bag for sudden revelations, don't you?

Also: oooh, new case. Shades of Legacy here. Can't wait for the next chapter.
