A politician party? With Emma and Emily in attendance? You, m'dear, are too good to us.

I love the evolution/devolution of the 3 AM phone call, the inevitable trending toward silence, revealed via back-story, followed by the wholesale breaking of rules/spilling of guts, the open vulnerability and Emma's need to mask it with vehemence, Emma's diction in general (you are simply too good at that...), Emma's pre-empt of Emily's gala ball explanation, Emily's relief... I love the whole push-pull of their relationship, the verbal tug-of-war with its basis in mutually declared love... How real. How thoroughly observed and executed.

The Garcia bit is fantastic. I'd never really thought about how much information she must be filtering (and therefore seeing, processing, being affected by) until now, so thanks for that insight. I'm excited to watch your take on this — and the difficult venture into politics that seems poised to occupy this entire set of chapters — unfold. You've got such an eye for balancing real-world exposition/detail, character development and plot-motion, and I just trust you with everything, ever, at this point.

And, oh. Ominous beating of drums for the CM crew. Crap. Crap crap crap.
