I loved the interaction between Emily and her mother, telling her things that Emily just didn't want to face. I especially liked the part where she says "This is entirely about you and your desperate need to anticipate everything bad that’s going to happen to you!” sooo Emily (certainly from your fics anyway). I think we all have that angst to a certain degree.

The thing I like about this AU is that there is less of a power struggle between Emma and Emily (not that I don't love Emma being a HBIC), I think either one is waiting for the other to make the first move. Emma is also much less controlling without her telepathic powers. Is that a good thing or bad thing? Maybe she's just warming up, she seems the underdog in this fic. Anyway, I'll stop my babbling and just say, great update, as usual.
