Super long chapter. I loved the characterisation and it's always nice to have Emma's POV.

I can't help but think that Emma is her own worst enemy at times. To some degree she kind of 'made her own bed' with rejecting Emily multiple times before things had even begun between the two of them. Then she accuses Emily of not taking what she wants. Though I'm sure to Emma's logic she's just rejecting Emily first before Emily decides to ditch her. Wow this Emma has self esteem issues just like the rest of us mortals. Maybe that's it, Emma without her telepathic abilities is just as confused and as full of angst as us normal folk!
Jealous Emma though - always good.

Great great update. Lines that I loved:

Emily just tried to go somewhere else mentally

"I don't like her. She's a spy. Have her killed."

Not that it was working. Didi was very sensitive to ulterior motives

"I don't feel safe with you. You're too... you're too good for me. And then you tell her that I'm just your babysitter, and I hate you, because that's all I am, and I can't rely on this." - poor Emma

If you want to stay forever, she wanted to say, stay just like this, and I'd never need anything else to be happy. This was already so much more than she ever even let herself want, and Emma thought she would give it up for something normal? - poor Emily
