Actually rereading this chapter the lines afterwards are even better. Heart-breaking in their own way: "If you want to stay forever, she wanted to say, stay just like this, and I'd never need anything else to be happy. This was already so much more than she ever even let herself want, and Emma thought she would give it up for something normal? But she couldn't find the words to say it."
