Excellent update. I can empathize with both Emily's and Didi's frustrations and fears. You particularly evoked that overwhelming sense of being adrift in the world when you're 5 and suddenly everything around you changes. Up is down, down is up, JJ isn't a slave and the only thing you can do is cry because you just don't understand why and don't have the words to make the adults around you understand just why you are so upset.
