Oo~ Now we're getting to the truly interesting stuff! I was dying for more Emma/Emily interaction in this! <3 You can never get enough of them. Their dysfunctional relationship made for honestly great entertainment, and we also get to see the flaws they have. Human or not, we all have them, after all. That's probably why they seem so real to me.
And OMG! Emma's father is the White King?! o.o I can't say I'm really surprised, considering Emma's sister Cordelia was seen as the White Rook in one of your other little ficlets. I actually started wondering if we were going to see other members of the Frost Clan (who cares that he's supposed to be dead?). Is he a mutant too though? He was speaking of 'true mutants', and the context in which it was used kind of implies that he is one.
I like how included a bit of Emma's past with the hazing. We don't get to hear too much of it. I'm always interested to see what Emma was like in her early Hellfire days. I didn't get into comics until about three years ago, so I didn't get to see too many depictions of it--just the occasional flashbacks.
And yay for Emma going back for her girl! It sounds like we're going to get a Frost showdown soon enough! X3
...By the way, isn't the subject title for this supposed to be 'Hellfire 9' and not 'Human 9'? <<;
