You think JJ is being nice? Well... perhaps. I have to say that my entire conception of Emily's character comes from that one scene where JJ asks her, (badly paraphrased) "how in hell are you dealing with all this whacko gross out shit that makes me cry in my office every day and have paranoid hallucinations?" Emily looks vaguely surprised and says, "i guess i compartmentalize better than most people." Which to me felt like she was actually saying, "I'm used to it, because i've lived with things like this for my entire life." Not that she is just randomly good at compartmentalizing, but that she's had practice.
And I did kill her mother, send her to dig children's bodies from the wreckage of a destroyed city, have her attacked and actually killed, for a bit, by *another* unsub, and then rejected multiple times... so depression may be a normal response.
Emma is a kick ass teacher! I want to be like her when i grow up. :) I think you'll be fine with the Jean and Scott bits.
