That last paragraph, is it by Emma? The first time I read it, I thought it was Emily, and that was quite painful, but the second time around I notice it's Emma's POV right before, plus it says "fourteen", and so now I read it as Emma, and then that whole last part really hits like a sledgehammer, utterly crushing.
