nike_ravus You know, about 10 months ago, I wrote a couple of scenes from a story where Emily is a spy, or possibly a defected ex-US spy, living in the middle east, and she meets this kid - think Draco Malfoy - who really just wants to play soccer with the local boys, so she gets him in the game and starts teaching him some arabic, and then meets his mother, Emma, who is married to a Russian oil tycoon for suspicious reasons, who flips out at her for messing around with her son, and then I ran out of steam, since I didn't actually have a plot.
I liked it though, and now that the spy stuff is canon (I suspected this from the beginning. I have a random scene from CotR where Emily gets a phone call after her mother retires offering her her mother's old job, and Emma is very unsurprised that her mother was a spy, and is equally unimpressed with the news that they're moving to Cairo.) it might be fun to mess around with it again. Anyone have ideas for actual plots? Getting mixed up in democratic revolutionary protests would be... current.
