Things that no one cares about:

I have a map!

Again, with the no one at all caring, but a map! Not that it is an accurate map, but, you know, generally evocative of the landscape.
I am nearing the climax of the story, which is always a nerve wracking event, whatever I'm writing. But this is just making it work. Yesterday I was terrified of writing this one scene where my villain(?) gets her say, and I had to convince myself that the insinuations of lesbian incest was indeed all in my head, and was not obvious to everyone else. This is something that I will need an outside opinion on.
If Sailor Moon taught me anything, it taught me that calling them cousins only makes the romantic notions worse.
Now I have to go write about the death of a squirrel. :(

Date: 2010-04-22 08:51 pm (UTC)I have no idea why that made me laugh hysterically, but it did! LOL! XD ...I am a truly, truly evil person. ._.;
Ah, but I'm so sorry that I haven't reviewed anything for you in months! I've been busy with college and all the material that my professors constantly throw at me! T^T
Still, I've been reading your fics constantly since I find that they're usually the only things that keep me going sometimes. I got to say, your talent definitely has not waned! You're still as amazing as ever!
And would you look at that map?! It's gorgeous! I love the different line widths you used to make it! I'm still more of a traditional artist, so I truly envy your skills! <3

Date: 2010-04-22 09:35 pm (UTC)No worries about the commenting. I fully support all endeavors to actually do assigned reading. I suppose I had better, what with the grad school and all.
Praise is always nice though. I'm in the last push towards the end of my novel, and then I will be revising, which will likely be quite painful enough to inspire more Emfic. (Oh, I forgot that paper on WH-movement... hmm.)
My map! I do love it, even if I really don't need a map since I don't write epic political fantasy serieses. I could probably make the little doodles better if I drew them again. I'm glad you think the different line widths work. I wasn't entirely sure. I do love my pens though. I can go to museums and wander through the oil paintings, yawn in front of the acryllics, and stare vaguely at the oil pastels, but if it's pen and ink, i love it.

Date: 2010-04-27 10:01 am (UTC)Also of course one can map rocks, but that's not really relevant. I like the map, it is evocative and I love your lettering, now I get to be curious about this novel. Oh and good luck, I'm still playing around with the beginning of my most recent original project and have been for several years, so you're way ahead of me.

I actually have a full draft, which is awesome! 267pp! And am now plugging away at the revisions. I actually think all the fanfic i've been writing really helped me on this. it taught me that if it is not fun to write, it won't be fun to read, so I just let myself enjoy it.
I will tell you what I tell everyone, whether they are writing papers or novels, or stories, "you will not know if the beginning works until you write the end, so keep moving!"
Of course, one of my notes for my revisions reads, "sinister crochet," so I have no idea if I know what I'm talking about. :D

Date: 2010-04-27 07:49 pm (UTC)Oh and I wanted to thank you for introducing me to Four Winds, I haven't investigated the rest of The Killer's oeuvre yet, but I'm obsessed with that song and how awesome it is.
